The Role of Online Social Networking in Our Lives


Social networking plays an important role in the life of all human beings on both professional and personal levels. Due to IT and internet awareness and ease to technology access, now this networking has gain popularity through many online social networks like Face Book, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. These online social networks are a big source of communication with other like minds across the globe.

There are multiple ways of acquiring benefits of these social networks other than just be in touch with friends and family. For a scientist, from updates of his/her field of interest to locating people who could be helpful in research work either directly or indirectly. For instance, while searching for human blood samples of genetic disease concerning endocrine hormonal disorders, I did sampling using Face Book…instead of visiting hospitals and wasting time, energy and money, I tried Face Book and contacted people across country that helped me in collecting samples. The ethical and moral concerns in sample collection was fulfilled much easily than normal procedures as a scientist can tell about their research and purpose by keeping themselves in direct contact with patients. So, these social networks can work wonders if you really know how to make use of them in the most useful way.
